Security Alert: Beware of Phishing Emails Impersonating Nyeusi

Dear Members of the Public,

We will like to inform you of a recent security incident affecting our email communications. Our account with Sendgrid was compromised, and as a result, unauthorized emails may have been sent pretending to be from Nyeusi.

What Happened?
On 19 February, we detected unauthorized access to our email marketing account.
The attackers used this access to send out phishing emails impersonating our company.
These emails may contain malicious links or attachments designed to steal personal information.

How to Identify the Phishing Email
The email may appear to come from our official address (donotreply@nyeusi.org) but was not sent by us.
It may request sensitive information (passwords, payment details, etc.).
It may contain links leading to unfamiliar or suspicious websites.
The subject of the email maybe: “1739817405 – Leaked creds”, “Official meeting notes”, “[Your first name or a name], una domanda veloce…” or something else or even blank/empty (missing a subject).

What You Should Do

• Do NOT open any attachments or click on links in suspicious emails claiming to be from us.
• Please delete it immediately.
• If you already clicked on a link, we recommend scanning your device for malware and updating your passwords.
• If you are unsure whether an email is legitimate, you can verify it by contacting us directly at info@nyeusi.org

What We Are Doing
We have secured our Sendgrid account and taken steps to prevent future unauthorised access.
We’ve been working with Sendgrid to investigate the incident.
We have implemented additional security measures to protect our email communications.
We are reporting the attack to the relevant authorities.
We sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused. Protecting your security is our priority, and we appreciate your vigilance.
